Locum Consultant in Ophthalmology – Short Term Contract This post is for a Locum Consultant in Ophthalmology with clinical and surgical experience in the diagnosis and management of patients with Oculoplastics, Lacrimal and Orbital disease.
The post is for a short term contract only.
The candidate will need extensive clinical and surgical experience in the diagnosis and management of patients with Oculoplastics, Lacrimal and Orbital disease and some experience of General Ophthalmology including anterior segment disorders. The candidate may be required to undertake surgery on such cases both under supervision and independently.
This post is suitable for those who have had experience as a Consultant with a primary interest in oculoplastics, orbital and lacrimal surgery. The candidate will work within the senior clinical team who prioritise the delivery of the service.
Applicants should have completed their specialty training in Ophthalmology and fulfilled all the competencies of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists Specialty Training Curriculum. There is no on‑call commitment.
The candidate will be required to work in accordance with GMC Good Medical Practice and Trust policies and will be expected to continue engaging in the appraisal and revalidation process at their substantive trust or current designated body.
