ROLE DESCRIPTION
This newly created role will support the Senior Finance Manager to deliver high quality business partnering and financial analysis to C4’s diversified revenue business units, which are a key pillar of our Fast Forward Strategy. This will all be underpinned by establishing, maintaining and presenting best in class financial reporting to senior leadership across the organisation.
The Senior Finance Analyst will interpret and analyse the performance and results of multiple business areas and provide recommendations on how to drive more value for the organisation, as well as supporting the successful execution of operational plans. They will also do the financial modelling required to assess potential investment opportunities which may arise.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Support
1. Work closely to build strong relationships with key budget owners across the business.

2. Channel 4+ - Our ad-free subscription arm. Work with the business and insights team to build robust reporting and forecasting capability to help us build a deep understanding of the key drivers of the business. The role would help evaluate/model pricing strategies, critically evaluate the effectiveness of acquisition and retention offers, and work closely with the commercial teams to drive effective marketing spend, reduce churn and maximise customer lifetime value
3. Creative Investment Fund – initially built through acquiring non-controlling interests in small production indies, the fund’s remit has expanded to seeking majority stakes in production companies that align to our objective of IP ownership and monetisation. Support on assessing business plans, due diligence on new investments, and exits, as well as valuations for follow on investments, plus day to day support
4. Firecrest Films – our first majority acquisition from the Creative Investment Fund, made in September 2025. Establish credibility with the Firecrest leadership team in order to provide a range of commercial and operational support – including strengthening cashflow modelling and identifying new partnership avenues to help grow the business
5. C4 Ventures - monitoring portfolio performance, upcoming deals, balance sheet risk, revenue opportunities. Seek to develop our relationship with the team and intimately understand the aims & strategic direction of the fund, in order to help deliver returns that can be reinvested into Channel4’s wider offering

6. IP Ownership – part of FastForward strategy to diversify revenues – exploring how we can produce and monetise our own content. Owning the financial modelling behind the business plan and business partnering with the newly announced IHP lead to help establish the new department, such as providing financial reporting and analysis that helps inform decision making
7. Evaluate other new business opportunities which arise
8. Be a trusted advisor to the business, helping them to understand the importance of generating a financial return for C4
9. Provides support and recommendations on business cases and investment decisions, considering financial and non-financial criteria
FP&A Activities and Reporting
10. Work with stakeholders to construct and deliver the consolidated forward-looking projections of the business (forecasts, budgets, strategic plans) with a high level of accuracy - as well as scenario planning where required
11. Develop and implement, with the FP&A team, further analytical or comparative reporting to improve understanding and applicability for forward looking plans
12. Review, interpret and present monthly results to key stakeholders, identifying risks and opportunities to improve business and preparing quality insight-led management information packs
13. Quarterly Business Review support – prepare and analyse KPIs and financial results, as well as input into deep dives where required
QUALIFICATIONS / ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
14. ACA/CA qualified accountant, with at least 2+ years’ post qualified experience
15. Excellent commercial awareness, able to see the big picture
16. High levels of personal credibility, professionalism and ethical standards
17. Excellent communication and presentation skills, comfortable interacting with, and providing constructive challenge to the business
18. Previous exposure to corporate finance/M&A/valuations strongly preferred
19. Previous exposure to the TV/film production industry a bonus, but not essential
20. Excellent financial analysis and modelling skills (Advanced Excel, Power BI)
21. Robust understanding of P&L, balance sheet and cash modelling
22. Ability to work at pace and comfortable with ambiguity
23. Strong time management skills; organised in their work and comfortable working across multiple areas, able to prioritise the important issues and be a self-starter
24. Be committed to and aligned with the Channel 4 remit
