Job Summary
Taurus Healthcare operates on behalf of General Practice in Herefordshire within the GP Federation. We work collaboratively with our partner organisations including Wye Valley Trust, providing an extension to the District Nursing Service overnight to ensure high-quality, evidence-based care for palliative patients and those requiring urinary catheter care. We have extended our operating hours to cover the evening from 8pm, with flexible hours available overnight from 10pm to 8am.
Main Duties
1. Providing urgent community nursing care to patients across Herefordshire, primarily during overnight hours.
2. Carrying out procedures such as urinary catheterisation (female, male, suprapubic), end-of-life symptom management, and wound care.
3. Working independently in patients' homes, with support available from a colleague between 10pm and midnight.
4. Traveling across the county as needed, with expenses covered.
5. Working flexibly across a 7-day rota, including shifts between 8pm and 8am.
Qualifications & Experience
* Registered Nurse (RN1) with NMC registration.
* Minimum 1 year post-registration experience in community or palliative care.
* Driving license and access to a vehicle.
Skills & Personal Attributes
* Competence in palliative care, catheterisation, and health and safety awareness.
* Excellent communication, assertiveness, and confidence.
* Ability to work autonomously and flexibly.
Additional Information
This is a permanent, part-time position with flexible hours. Benefits include NHS pension, generous leave entitlement, and mileage reimbursement. The role involves lone working and requires a DBS check.
