Role Overview
Are you looking for a challenging yet rewarding opportunity to support the Australian Defence Force's critical communications infrastructure? Babcock is seeking a skilled and experienced communications operator to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in operating the existing Defence High Frequency Communications System (DHFCS) while supporting the implementation and operation of the upgraded Enhanced Defence High Frequency Communications System (EDHFCS).
About You
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, performing and delivering contracted Operations Support, monitoring, engineering, and operating voice and data circuits over HF and satellite, operating cryptographic keying equipment, and maintaining a 12-hour rotational shift. You will also achieve competency to operate DHFCS and EDHFCS Mission System, conduct initial investigations into system failures and reliability concerns, ensure compliance with SOPs, and complete administrative duties as required. You will have the ability to collaborate and engage with internal stakeholders and work as part of a high-functioning team. Qualifications in leadership, management, or communications will be highly regarded.
Minimum Requirements
* At least one year of experience as a Defence Communications Operator or in a similar field.
* Experience in operations within a Defence environment.
* Ability to work within a rotating shift roster.
* Australian Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Commonwealth Security Clearance.
