Senior Research Scientist, Mass Spectrometry
CK Group are recruiting for a Senior Research Scientist, Mass Spectrometry to join a global biotechnology company, on a contract basis for 12 months.
Salary:
£270 per day - £330 per day PAYE.
Senior Research Scientist, Mass Spectrometry Role:
1. Design, develop, and validate robust small molecule MS-based assays for drug discovery.
2. Optimize assay conditions to ensure high sensitivity, specificity, and reproducibility for small molecule detection and quantification
3. Collaborate with structural biology and biophysics teams to integrate MS data with structural and biophysical insights
4. Work closely with medicinal chemists, biologists, and other scientists to align assay development with project goals.
5. Ensure compliance with laboratory SOPs and detailed record keeping in an electronic notebook
6. Maintain, operate, and troubleshoot LCMS instrumentation for routine and novel assays
Your Background:
7. Relevant Ph.D. or equivalent experience with a proven track record of small molecule mass spec delivery
8. Experience running and analysing quantitative small molecule mass spec assays
9. Practical experience working with triplequad MS platforms
10. Hands-on experience troubleshooting complex instrumentation
11. Experience of small molecule Affinity Selection Mass Spectrometry (AS-MS) is desirable.
