A well-established secondary school in Northumberland is seeking a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated support to a pupil with additional learning needs.
This role involves working closely with one student to support their academic progress, emotional regulation, and engagement in lessons. The school has clear behaviour systems and a strong SEN team, offering a structured and supportive environment.

£90 – £110 per day | PAYE | Depending on experience

Key responsibilities
6. Provide tailored 1:1 classroom support
7. Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs
8. Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour
9. Liaise with teaching staff and SENCO regarding progress
10. Encourage independence and confidence
The ideal candidate
11. Experience supporting young people with SEN ( ASD, ADHD, SEMH, learning difficulties)
12. Calm, patient and consistent approach
13. Strong communication and relationship-building skills
14. Confident supporting behaviour within a secondary setting
15. Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
