29.6 hours per week
Fixed Term until 31st March 2026, with extension possible, subject to continued funding.

The Early Years and Childcare Team is evolving as a result of Welsh Government expansion plans, and we currently have capacity to recruit within our well-regarded team of advisory teachers and childcare development officers.
This exciting opportunity offers the chance for the successful candidate to share their skills, experiences and passions to support, challenge and inspire fellow early years professionals and help improve outcomes in Bridgend’s early years settings.
To succeed in this role, you will require:
- A good working knowledge of relevant sector legislation and guidance, such as: The National Minimum Standards, A Quality Framework for Early Childhood Play, Learning and Care in Wales, the Curriculum and assessment arrangements for non-maintained settings and CIW and Estyn inspection frameworks
- Substantial experience of delivering high quality early years provision, inclusive of children with emerging needs and Additional Learning Needs (ALN)
- The ability to evidence the impact of your leadership on the development of colleagues
- Excellent communication skills, diplomacy, tact, and approachability

The role provides the opportunity to work flexibly in line with the requirements of the service. As a home working element is offered as part of this role, you will need to ensure you are equipped with a reliable internet connection. Applicants should also be aware that this post will require travel throughout Bridgend and therefore a valid driving licence and sole use of a car are a requirement of appointment.
Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.
An Enhanced with Childrens Barred list criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) is a requirement for this post.
The council’s Hybrid Working Policy applies to this post. This provides a framework for establishing how you will undertake working hours between your home and the office.
