The Logistic Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the coordination and control of Logistics Services to and from our Huntingdon site, providing support to all departments requiring the shipment of Biological, Pharmaceutical and other materials.
Full training will be provided and this is an ideal role for someone looking to make a change and build a long‑term career within the scientific industry or someone who has prior logistics coordination experience looking for a change.
Please note, whilst this is an office‑based role, you will be required to visit other departments on site.
Due to the remote location of this site, there are no public transport links available.
Responsibilities
* Organising and coordinating all biological substances shipments to or from Huntingdon, including radioactive biological substances and occasionally dangerous goods shipments
* Preparing and submitting applications for all import and export licences for Non‑EU countries with UK Animal Health Authorities and where necessary US FDA and F&W Import Authorities
* Close liaison with operational members of courier services
* Ensuring appropriate procedures are followed so quality, scientific integrity and regulatory compliance is maintained
* Control, storage, inventory and archiving of slides
* Complying with UK and international GLP, GMP and GCP regulations
* Complying with all safety directives, department safety procedures and ensuring safe working practices in accordance with COSHH
* Reporting any difficulty, uncertainty or unexpected finding to the Senior Logistics Coordinator
Qualifications
* Strong communication skills paired with great accuracy and attention to detail; Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
* Excellent communication and customer service skills
* Organisational skills
* I.T. proficient
* Any previous logistics coordination, shipping, warehouse / stores experience will be advantageous
