Shrewsbury School is seeking to appoint a forward-looking Finance Director with demonstrable commercial acumen and experience of working effectively in a group structure. These are standout requirements to accompany the traditional statutory and management accounting, reporting and financial modelling accountabilities associated with a Finance Director role. The successful candidate will work directly with the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and have strong links to the Governors and the Head. The Finance Director works closely with the COO to develop and refine the financial strategy and the implementation of associated business plans to ensure long-term financial viability. The successful candidate should be a commercially orientated, qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) with experience of operating at a senior level or leading a finance function in a premium service-led SME. Experience of financial reporting, compliance (including tax), developing financial strategies and financial modelling are all essential skillsets, along with the ability to drive continuous improvement.
