GPW are currently looking for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial operations on key energy infrastructure projects across North Wales, including electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV charging, metering, and home decarbonisation.
This role supports the operations of one of the UK’s leading Independent Connection Providers (ICPs), focusing on maintaining and upgrading electrical distribution networks. From network reinforcement to customer connections and planned electrical works, your work will help ensure a safe, reliable, and sustainable energy supply.
You’ll be contributing to the UK’s journey to net zero, collaborating across disciplines and regions to deliver long-term infrastructure solutions that matter.
What will you be doing?
This is a hands-on role where you’ll oversee subcontractor performance, manage variations and final accounts, and ensure contract compliance. You’ll also support and coach Quantity Surveyors, contribute to financial reporting, and help drive continuous improvement in commercial processes.
Key responsibilities include:

Managing risk registers and ensuring recovery of contract costs

Supporting procurement and subcontractor negotiations

Preparing accurate commercial forecasts and cost/value reconciliations
*
Working closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and Commercial teams
*
Ensuring alignment with ISO standards and internal governance
What you’ll bring:

Experience or qualification in Quantity Surveying
*
Full UK driving licence
*
Strong understanding of NEC3 and NEC4 contracts (Options A, C, and E)
*
Subcontract management expertise and practical site-based commercial experience
*
Ability to manage teams and support junior QSs through project delivery
