3 months contract with a local authority Job Purpose To support the delivery of family-focused services within the West Family Centre and wider community settings. The Assistant Family Worker will facilitate group sessions, provide practical and emotional support to families, and promote access to local services, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive environment for children and families. Key Duties/Accountabilities Plan, organize, and deliver group sessions and informal gatherings in family centres, schools, and community venues. Create a welcoming and supportive environment that encourages peer support among families. Transport and manage resources using the team van, including packing/unpacking and lifting boxes and equipment. Maintain cleanliness and rotation of toys and resources to ensure varied and engaging play experiences for children. Provide families with information, advice, and assistance to access relevant services, including third sector, local authority, and health services. Actively promote the family centre and support teams as a single point of access for community support. Engage with the local community to raise awareness of available services and encourage participation. Essential Experience Required Proficiency in using technology and software applications. Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills. Experience working with children, young people, and families in a community or support setting. Ability to lift and transport equipment safely and efficiently. A proactive and flexible approach to supporting families and team activities. Essential Qualification Required Social Care Wales Registration is essential. Good standard of education (minimum 5 GCSEs or equivalent).
