Your Role
An opportunity has arisen for a Vehicle Technician based in Corby, Northamptonshire. The Vehicle Technician will be responsible for inspection, servicing, and repair of company commercial vehicles to Department of Transport standards. They will also rectify reported driver defects and carry out other related duties.
Your Responsibilities
1. Repair and maintain vehicles within the company fleet, including other vehicles on contract repairs authorized by the National Fleet Engineer.
2. Take vehicles on road tests when necessary for repairs.
3. Take vehicles for MOT testing or to outside workshops for specialist repairs.
4. Collect parts when deliveries cannot be made.
5. Undertake repairs on forklifts and other equipment, provided these are not sourced via contract hire.
6. Complete servicing documentation relevant to the vehicle worked on.
7. Clean vehicles/parts to enable effective maintenance.
8. Attend vehicle breakdowns on-site and off-site as needed.
9. Provide ad-hoc cover for the workshop supervisor when not on site.
Your Profile
* City & Guilds in Motor Vehicle Engineering or recognized equivalent qualification.
* Vehicle workshop experience from recognized apprenticeship or equivalent training.
* LGV license (desired but not essential).
* Competent with vehicle diagnostics.
* Knowledge of bulk pressure systems (desired but not essential).
* Understanding of Department of Transport operating requirements.
* Educated to GCSE level.
