GSL Education are seeking caring and proactive Pastoral Teaching Assistants to work in schools across Newcastle Upon Tyne.
As a Pastoral Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pastoral teams, teachers, and families to support students’ emotional wellbeing, behaviour, and overall engagement with school life.
Key Responsibilities of a Pastoral Teaching Assistant:
* Provide one-to-one and small group pastoral support to students
* Support students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs
* Assist in managing behaviour and promoting positive attitudes
* Work closely with pastoral staff to implement support strategies
* Build strong relationships with students to encourage engagement
* Support students in overcoming barriers to learning
* Monitor and report on student wellbeing and progress
* Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment
Requirements of a Pastoral Teaching Assistant:
* Experience working with young people in a pastoral, education, or care setting is desirable
* A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
* A proactive and supportive attitude
* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
