Part-Time SEN Teacher / ECT - Residential Setting
Location: L36 / L34 (Knowsley Area)
Hours: Part-Time - 9:00am to 3:30pm, Term-Time Only
Salary: £140-£180 per day (dependent on experience)
Start Date: September 2025
About the Role
Milk Education is working in partnership with a specialist residential provision in the Knowsley area, supporting children and young people aged 7-16 with a range of SEN needs, many of whom are Looked After Children (LAC) or have experienced trauma and exclusion from mainstream education. We are seeking a part-time Teacher or Early Career Teacher (ECT) to deliver engaging, differentiated lessons to small groups of pupils, typically no more than 6 per class. The role requires a nurturing, trauma-informed approach and a strong understanding of emotional and behavioural needs.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver creative, accessible lessons across core subjects
* Adapt teaching to meet individual EHCP targets and learning styles
* Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to promote engagement
* Work closely with support staff and care teams to ensure holistic support
* Create a safe, structured learning environment that promotes emotional wellbeing
What We\'re Looking For
* QTS or ECT status (SEND experience preferred but not essential)
* Experience working with children with SEMH, autism, and learning difficulties
* Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
* A nurturing, flexible teaching style with a trauma-informed mindset
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle - essential due to location
