About the Role
We’re looking for a compassionate and resilient Teaching Assistant to provide vital support in a specialist secondary setting for students with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
In this role, you’ll work closely with teachers and support staff to create a safe, structured learning environment. You’ll be a steady presence for pupils, offering 1:1 support and small group interventions, while helping to manage behaviour in a calm and consistent way.
Key Responsibilities
* Support pupils with SEMH needs in and out of the classroom
* Work 1:1 and in small groups to build trust and engagement
* Assist teachers with behaviour management strategies
* Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs
* Promote emotional wellbeing and resilience through positive relationships
What We’re Looking For
* Experience in SEMH, PRU, or specialist settings (preferred but not essential)
* Calm, patient, and confident in de-escalation techniques
* Ability to build strong, positive relationships with young people
* A flexible, team-focused approach

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
