About the Role:
We are seeking a committed, experienced, and motivated Supervising Senior Caseworker to join our specialist Immigration and Legal Aid team. This senior position involves managing a complex immigration caseload, supervising and developing a team of lawyers and caseworkers, and ensuring high-quality legal services.
This role combines legal expertise, mentoring, and operational oversight. You will lead in providing Legal Aid and private immigration services, fostering a culture of learning, compliance, and compassion.

BPA Immigration Lawyers is dedicated to providing access to justice for vulnerable individuals navigating the UK immigration system. We have a growing Legal Aid department focused on delivering compassionate, high-quality advice and representation.
As a Senior Caseworker with IAAS Supervisor status, you will shape the standards and direction of our Legal Aid services, supervise staff, manage legal risks, and contribute to positive client outcomes within a collaborative team environment.
Main Responsibilities of the Role:
* Provide technical leadership and manage caseworkers, trainees, and solicitors.
* Handle a portfolio of Legal Aid and private immigration cases, including asylum, human rights, detention, trafficking victims, and tribunal cases.
* Oversee case allocation and capacity planning.
* Manage Legal Aid funding applications and documentation.
* Draft legal documents such as witness statements and representations.
* Attend conferences, hearings, and court as needed.
* Provide internal training and ensure legal quality across the team.
* Support business development and marketing initiatives.
Key Skills Required:
* Practicing Certificate (valid) and IAAS Level 2 Senior Caseworker accreditation.
* Supervisory experience and performance management skills.
* Strong knowledge of immigration, asylum, detention, and public law.
* Familiarity with Legal Aid funding, billing, and compliance.
* Excellent client care skills, especially with vulnerable clients.
* Leadership with a collaborative, proactive approach.
* Advocacy experience is advantageous.
* Proficiency in IT and case management systems.
* Experience with immigration tribunals and private client matters.
* Knowledge of internal audits, capacity reporting, and team performance monitoring.
