Job Title: Technical Information Engineer
Location: Rochester, Kent. (On-Site)
Salary: £32,000 - £36,000 depending on experience and skills
What you'll be doing:
1. Working within the documentation team and liaising with project teams and engineers to author Component Maintenance Manuals, Data Modules, Illustrated Parts Catalogues etc.
2. Creating new technical documentation and amending existing technical documentation, ensuring all information is up-to-date and accurate
3. Working closely with engineers to gather information, including design drawings, to fully understand the impact that changes have on technical documentation
4. Interpreting engineering data, and where appropriate, querying data to ensure correct and accurate interpretation
5. Producing production specifications for sub-contracted work packages and effectively managing the lifecycle of the sub-contracted packages
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
1. BTEC Level 3/HNC/HND in an engineering discipline
2. Understanding/ability to read technical design drawings
3. Ability to build and maintain relationships
4. Good communication, problem solving, organisation and prioritisation skills
5. Experience in a maintenance or manufacturing environment
6. Computer literate with a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Desirable:
1. Exposure of using any mark-up language (e.g. XML, SGML, HTML)

The Technical Engineering team:
As a Technical Information Engineer, you will work within a team of Technical Author's and ILS Engineers, as part of Electronic System's supportability engineering function. You will be contributing to the development and through life support of customer facing documentation. This will involve researching, developing, writing and reviewing technical information and guidance for new and existing products, used by both UK and overseas customers.
