Senior Financial Accountant
6-12 month contract

£450 - £500 per day

We’re partnering with a leading global healthcare and retail organisation to appoint an Interim Financial Accountant within their Corporate Controllership team on an 6-12 month contract.
This role sits within a complex, multinational environment and focuses on financial accounting, statutory reporting, and compliance across a portfolio of legal entities. You’ll lead the delivery of technical financial reporting and play a key part in ensuring compliance and audit readiness across the group during a period of change.
This is a brilliant opportunity for a qualified accountant with strong experience in group accounting looking to step into a highly visible and hands-on role during a period of transformation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the production of statutory financial statements for a portfolio of legal entities, ensuring compliance with IFRS, UK GAAP, and US GAAP.
* Manage audit processes, working closely with external auditors to ensure timely and accurate submissions.
* Own monthly and annual close activities for multiple entities, ensuring strong internal controls and timely reporting.
* Drive improvements in financial controls, reporting accuracy, and group accounting consistency.
* Act as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders on technical accounting, SOX compliance, and accounting policy interpretation.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives, including system enhancements and process automation.
What We’re Looking For:
* MUST HAVE IT2 system knowledge
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) with 5-10 years post-qualification experience.
* Strong experience in statutory reporting, group accounting, and audit management.
* Proven knowledge of IFRS, UK GAAP, and ideally US GAAP.
* Experience within a large multinational organisation or Big 4 background.
* Confident with Excel (pivot tables, lookups) and comfortable working with ERP and consolidation systems.
* Ability to manage multiple entities and deliver high-quality reporting in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise with senior stakeholders across finance and non-finance functions.
