Conducting phlebotomy (blood tests), ECGs, blood pressure checks, and urinalysis. Assisting with chronic disease monitoring (e.g., diabetes, hypertension, COPD) in line with QOF. Performing wound care, dressings, and suture removal(if trained). Administering flu, pneumonia, and B12 injections (if trained).
Supporting NHS Health Checks and lifestyle advice. Assisting with vaccination and immunisation programmes (if trained). Ensuring infection control compliance and adherence to CQC standards. Maintaining accurate clinical records using SystmOne.
Supporting audits, recall systems, and data collection for QOF and CQC compliance. Assist with Medical Procedures: Assist GPs in performing medical procedures and examinations, including taking blood samples and urine tests. Clinical Audits: Participate in regular clinical audits to ensure high standards of care and identify areas for improvement. Including Infection control audits, fridge checks and managing the drugs log.
Team Meetings: Actively participate in the variety of practice meetings. Mentor, support and develop colleagues and students: Support the variety of students we have on placement or training in practice. Collaboration & Teamwork: Work closely with GPs, nurses, healthcare assistants, and administrative staff to ensure effective patient care delivery. Emergency Response: Provide initial assessment and care for patients in urgent situations before the arrival of a GP or paramedics, if required.
