Finance & Operations Assistant
Location: King's College London (Hybrid - office Tuesday to Thursday, remote Monday & Friday)
Pay: £15.11 - £15.93 per hour plus holiday pay (£2.20 - £2.32 per hour), equivalent to £27,500 - £29,000 FTE
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (core hours supported, 9-5 with 30-minute break)
Contract: 3-month temporary role
Charity People are delighted to partner with a national charity that supports schools across the UK, many in areas of socio-economic disadvantage, to introduce or grow the teaching of classical subjects such as Latin, Greek, Ancient History and Classical Civilisation.
We are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Finance & Operations Assistant to join their small and committed team on a temporary basis. This is a varied role, ideal for someone with strong finance administration skills and CRM experience who enjoys balancing routine processes with flexible, collaborative support across programmes and operations.

Key Responsibilities
Finance
* Process invoices, expenses, petty cash, and subscriptions (via CAF Business Cards)
* Support budgeting, forecasting, and funding reports alongside senior colleagues
* Monitor spend against budgets and flag variances
* Reconcile donation and financial data between Salesforce and bank records
* Liaise with external Finance team to ensure smooth processes
* Use QuickBooks (basic) and ApprovalMax for expenditure approvals
Operations
* Manage office supplies and IT troubleshooting (liaising with providers as needed)
* Support renewals of contracts, leases, insurance, and licences
* Coordinate and distribute board and committee papers/minutes
Programme Support
* Log and track applications and school data on Salesforce
* Assist with assessing and summarising applications for support
* Contribute to delivery of school and young people programmes, plus wider events (e.g. Moot Trial, Impact Awards)
Other
* Work flexibly across finance, operations, and programme support depending on deadlines (e.g. September peak application period)
About You
* Experience in finance administration with strong attention to detail
* Familiarity with accounting software (QuickBooks preferred) and finance systems (ApprovalMax desirable)
* CRM experience (Salesforce highly desirable)
* Excellent organisational and written communication skills
* Flexible, proactive, and collaborative working style
* Confidence engaging with stakeholders at all levels
