What can you expect from joining a specialist team:

9. providing day to day support relating to activities, appointments, family contact and much more ideally you will have a driver's licence and business insurance
10. being busy engaging and encouraging the child or young person to take part in activities and form structure
11. providing accurate reports and information to support the development of care plans and goals
What you will bring:
the role - each specialist team will have differences, to excel in this specialist setting you will need to evidence:
12. supporting children and young people in a residential setting
13. confidence to work with colleagues at times of heightened behaviours to de-escalate situations
14. experience of using de-escalation techniques to keep children and young people safe
15. experience making decisions and taking action in challenging situations
16. an understanding of detailed and accurate daily record keeping, incident reporting
17. be creative when engaging and establishing trust with children and young people
18. demonstrate sound communication and judgement
19. clarity over protecting personal and professional boundaries at all times
commitment - as an integral part of a specialist team we are looking for individuals who can;
20. be a consistent part of a team offering dedicated support to a child or young person
21. provide availability and maintain this for the duration of the support required
22. to take time to read relevant reports, referrals and profiles to gain insight to the child or young person
Skills and training
23. Ideally drivers licence and business insurance
24. DBS on update service or support new application
25. Registered with relevant regulatory body
26. PMVA trained - ideally or willing to undertake training
