The Opportunity
We are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented SAM Systems Specialist to lead the operational management and technical implementation of tools, data, and workflows supporting our enterprise Software Asset Management (SAM) and SaaS optimization strategy.
This role will be responsible for the deployment, configuration, and ongoing administration of SAM and SaaS management platforms, ensuring accurate software inventory, license tracking, and actionable insights to support compliance, cost savings, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities, You’ll be accountable for:
* Lead the evaluation, and deployment of enterprise SAM and SaaS management platforms.
* Integrate tools with core IT systems (e.g., SCCM, CMDB, procurement, SSO) for seamless data flow.
* Build and maintain a centralized software inventory for both on-premise and SaaS applications.
* Develop and implement strategies for license entitlement tracking, usage data collection, and renewal management.
* Create dashboards and reports to enable insights on compliance, usage trends, and vendor performance.
* Drive cost savings through license optimization and proactive subscription management.
* Support audit readiness and compliance through accurate, documented entitlement and usage data.
* Collaborate with Procurement, IT, Finance, Legal, and Security to establish and enforce governance policies.
* Document platform processes, integrations, and operational best practices.
Your Profile & Experience
* Extensive knowledge of Software Asset Management practices, with hands-on expertise in managing SaaS environments.
* Proven experience in implementing and operationalizing platforms such as Flexera, ServiceNow SAM Pro, Snow, Zylo, Torii, BetterCloud, etc.
* Strong grasp of software licensing models, SaaS lifecycle management, and optimization strategies.
* Solid technical background in tool integration, APIs, data normalization, and dashboard/report creation.
* Familiarity with ITSM platforms, CMDBs, SCCM, SSO systems, and procurement tools.
* Knowledge of vendor audit processes and entitlement management.
* Excellent communication, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
* Relevant certifications (e.g., CSAM, ITAM Foundation) and knowledge of frameworks like ITIL and ISO/IEC 19770 are highly desirable.
