We are seeking a Principal Heritage Consultant to join our team in London or Cambridge. The role involves leading fieldwork projects, preparing tenders, developing archaeological strategies, liaising with stakeholders, and contributing to desk-based assessments. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong project management, knowledge of Irish and UK heritage legislation, and business development skills.
Responsibilities
Plan, manage, and deliver fieldwork projects and archaeological strategies from tender to execution.
Prepare competitive tenders and design scope and methodology for fieldwork in line with health and safety protocols.
Monitor and assure subcontractor work, reviewing deliverables and ensuring compliance with RAMS.
Produce or contribute to archaeological desk-based assessments and liaise with stakeholders, curators, and clients.
Qualifications
Experience in archaeological fieldwork project management, including project, financial, and staff management.
Robust knowledge of Irish archaeology, history, planning processes, and relevant heritage legislation.
Experience in heritage and planning, masterplanning, heritage conservation, regeneration, tourism, sustainability, placemaking, multidisciplinary collaboration, and business development.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and teamwork ability.
Highly motivated, conscientious, efficient, and able to meet deadlines and budgets.
