Our Pharmacy Aseptic Services Unit currently holds a LOW overall risk rating which was awarded during our last external Regional Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance audit in September 2025., To participate in the provision of a safe, efficient and cost-effective Aseptic Preparation Service for the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust as part of a multidisciplinary team. To be responsible for the supervision of activities within the clean room. To assist in the management of the service as necessary., The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic person to support the Pharmacy Aseptic Services Unit in the provision of chemotherapy to patients within the Trust. We are looking for a qualified technician to join our small friendly Aseptic Services team. You will have recent retail, hospital or aseptic experience, good communication skills, and knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice. You will also have experience of teamwork, staff supervision, training others and work planning. We welcome applications from Pharmacy Technicians and Science Manufacturing Technicians who do or do not have prior experience of working in an Aseptic Services Unit. You must demonstrate enthusiasm and knowledge regarding this service. A full training programme will be provided.

* Supervisory experience, NVQ level 3 Pharmacy services or BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences or SCOTVEC or equivalent and professional registration as a Pharmacy Technician or Science Manufacturing Technician, You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
