Job Purpose:
To provide person-centred support to individuals living in a supported living setting, promoting independence, dignity, and choice. You will assist clients with daily living activities, social integration, and the development of life skills to help them achieve their goals and live as independently as possible.
Key Responsibilities:
Support with Daily Living:
* Assist with personal care (washing, dressing, toileting) where required.
* Support with meal planning, preparation, and healthy eating.
* Support with medication in accordance with individual care plans and company policies.
Promoting Independence:
* Encourage and support service users to participate in community activities and social opportunities.
* Support service users in developing independent living skills such as budgeting, shopping, and household tasks.
* Emotional and Social Support:
* Build positive, respectful relationships with service users.
* Provide emotional support and encouragement in a respectful and non-judgmental way.
* Promote self-esteem and confidence.
* Health and Safety:
* Maintain a safe and clean environment in line with health and safety and infection control procedures.
* Identify and report any safeguarding concerns promptly in accordance with policy.
Documentation and Communication:
* Keep accurate records of daily activities, support provided, and incidents.
* Work as part of a team, attending staff meetings and contributing to care planning and reviews.
* Communicate effectively with families, professionals, and other stakeholders.
Requirements:
Essential:
* Passion for supporting individuals to live meaningful lives
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work flexibly (including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins)
* IT and record-keeping skills
* Right to work in the UK
Desirable:
* Previous experience in a supported living or care setting
* NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or working towards it)
* Knowledge of safeguarding and person-centred planning
