About the Role
Location: National
Daily rate: £300 (£268 day rate + £32 day holiday pay)
Ad-Hoc: As and when required

We are looking for a Specialist Advisor with expertise in eating disorder services to help the Health and Social Care Act improve safety, effectiveness, and quality. The role involves working with inspectors, providing expert insight, and supporting the CQC’s mission to put people’s experiences at the centre of care.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide impartial specialist advice on community and inpatient eating disorder services.
* Support CQC inspectors with clinical expertise, identifying best practice and concerns during inspections.
* Assist in reviewing care records, incident reports, complaints, and policies using electronic databases.
* Ensure judgments are based on credible, up-to-date professional knowledge and current registration.
* Maintain competency in administering medicines and understanding best-practice guidance for naso-gastric tube feeding under restraint.
* Demonstrate strong understanding of mental health services, NHS/independent systems, and regulation.
* Apply knowledge of mental health legislation (Mental Health Act, Code of Practice) and relevant guidance for eating disorder services.
Qualifications & Experience
* Clinical experience working in eating disorder services.
* Current professional registration and active practice in the field.
* Proficiency in operating electronic databases and reviewing relevant documentation.
* Knowledge of mental health legislation, the Mental Health Act, and Code of Practice.
* Experience administering medicines and performing naso-gastric tube feeding under restraint.
* Strong analytical and communication skills to support inspectors.
