The Supplementary Staffing Service enables flexible working via a range of jobs that are available to book online or by phone. We are looking for individuals who are committed to the jobs booked, can provide an exceptional level of patient care and consistently demonstrate and deliver the values of the organisation.
Work would be allocated on an 'as and when required basis' with different shift patterns available to suit flexible working. Within the Supplementary Staffing office system, there are no guarantees of a fixed amount of hours each week as this is a demand‑led service. Supplementary Staffing workers can submit their availability in advance and shifts can be booked either online or by telephoning the Supplementary Staffing office. Interpreters are paid for a minimum of one hour, and in 15-minute increments thereafter. Travel time is paid between jobs where there is a gap between appointments of 60 minutes or less, but travel to and from first and last appointment is not paid. Travel expenses are paid as if you were starting from your base which is Comely Bank Centre.
NHS Lothian is committed to providing equality of access to healthcare services for all service users and provides interpreting services for patients who require language support in accessing healthcare. We are looking for people who share this vision and who are enthusiastic about delivering a high-quality service to clinical areas.
Please note that all successful candidates will be required to complete an online mandatory Induction Programme.
We anticipate that interviews will be held on 1st July.
