We are seeking a hard-working and reliable Maintenance
Assistant to join our team at Hotel Indigo Newcastle. The successful candidate will
play a vital role in ensuring that all hotel facilities are maintained to the
highest standard, supporting the comfort, safety, and satisfaction of our
guests.
This position requires excellent attention to detail,
the ability to work flexible hours including weekends, and a strong team-player
mentality. Prior experience in a similar role is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform routine
inspections of premises and equipment.
* Carry out minor repairs
and maintenance tasks across guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house
spaces.
* Support with plumbing,
electrical, HVAC, and painting tasks where required.
* Respond promptly to
maintenance requests and emergencies as directed.
* Keep accurate records of
work completed and materials used.
* Ensure all work is
completed in a safe, clean, and professional manner.
* Collaborate with other
departments to minimize guest disruption.
* Maintain tools and
equipment in good working condition.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in a
similar maintenance or facilities role, preferably within the hospitality
industry.
* Excellent attention to
detail and commitment to high standards.
* Must be hard-working,
dependable, and able to take initiative.
* Flexible availability —
must be available 7 days per week, including weekends and public
holidays (shift patterns vary).
* Strong interpersonal
skills; able to work well both independently and as part of a team.
* Basic knowledge of
electrical, plumbing, or HVAC systems is advantageous.
* Physically fit and
capable of lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
Working Hours:
* Shift-based, including
mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
