The new Children and Young People’s Gender Service National Provider Network (NPN) brings together specialist paediatric tertiary providers of the NHS Children and Young People’s Gender Service (CYPGS). The Cass Review, an independent review into children and young people’s gender services, concluded in April 2024 with a final report.
In August 2024, NHS England published an Implementation Plan accepting these recommendations, with the formation of the NPN cited as a key and urgent priority.
The aim of the NPN is to ensure that all CYPGS providers across England share a consistent approach, maintain high quality, and are underpinned by research, working closely with NHS England and CYPGS providers.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a collaborative leader to work as the NPN's Network Manager.
The Network Manager will be integral to the development and management of the Network, working with the NPN team and service providers to ensure safe, effective, and consistent services across England. Although the role typically does not involve direct contact with patients, the needs of children, young people, and their families are paramount.
Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust hosts the National Provider Network, but the post-holder will collaborate with specialist paediatric tertiary providers across England, NHS England, and other stakeholders.
Responsibilities include leading and providing operational management support to the NPN and its sub-groups, managing and developing business and project support staff, developing and implementing business plans, projects, and change initiatives, building key relationships, overseeing NPN membership, supporting onboarding, monitoring performance, coordinating reporting, and supporting national audits and training.
The Network Manager will also support the operational management of the CYPGS National Multidisciplinary Team (NMDT), working with the Business and Project Support Officer and supporting the National MDT Chair. Ensuring adherence to Standard Operating Procedures, robust information governance, and continuous quality and outcome monitoring are essential.
