A growing UK engineering and utilities infrastructure specialist is seeking a Senior Tendering Engineer to support the delivery of complex high-voltage connection projects across the UK. The organisation provides services across high-voltage electrical networks, grid connections, substations, and multi-utility infrastructure, supporting sectors such as energy, data centres, renewables, and battery storage.
As a Senior Tendering Engineer, you will lead the preparation of technical and commercial tenders for projects including 132kV grid connections, substations, BESS schemes, data centres, and customer-owned HV networks.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Strong experience in tendering high-value electrical infrastructure projects, ideally £5M+, within utilities, MEICA, or transmission & distribution environments.
* Solid technical knowledge of high-voltage electrical systems, particularly 132kV connections, substations, and customer HV networks.
* Experience working on grid connections, BESS (battery storage), renewable energy, or data centre infrastructure projects.
* Understanding of Control, Protection & Automation schemes within HV networks.
* Ability to produce commercially accurate tender submissions under formal construction contracts.
* Experience with design development for complex HV electrical networks.
* Competent in using AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project to develop tender documentation and programmes.
* Understanding of CDM Regulations 2015 for notifiable construction projects.
* Relevant qualification such as NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in engineering, construction, or technical sales.
* Ability to manage tender timelines, risks, and client communications within a fast-paced engineering environment.
