Overview

Contract Manager – Location: Renfrewshire. Based at the Fabrication office and workshop in Paisley, Scotland, you will oversee Access Metalwork projects within the water industry across the UK, managing health, safety, environmental performance, project scheduling, financial control, and overall delivery of assigned contracts.


What you will be doing

* Have experience of working in the fabrication and welding industry.
* Demonstrate a high level of commercial awareness and technical operational knowledge; make the required decisions for project success.
* Lead and develop teams, communicating effectively with in-house staff, sub-contractors, clients and suppliers.
* Promote the Company purpose, vision, values and culture.
* Be flexible, resilient and able to influence key stakeholders; demonstrate strong ethical standards and openness.
* Commit to excellent customer service; be passionate, committed and enthusiastic in all duties.
* Manage the project team with clear objectives, roles and responsibilities for each member.
* Support the Operations Manager, Installation Manager and Workshop Manager in utilising direct labour resources across projects where possible.
* Take responsibility for the financial performance of the project portfolio with overall Profit/Loss responsibility on contracts under the Framework.
* Produce project performance reports and participate in monthly financial/programme reviews with the Installation Manager.
* Ensure compliance with all company commercial and financial procedures; complete contract documentation.
* Establish and agree price variations and final accounts; prepare estimates and quotations and provide tender vetting for others.
* Ascertain preliminary and detailed design/project requirements and solutions.
* Liaise with tendering and design departments to ensure resources are allocated and client requirements are achieved.
* Attend site visits and meetings.


Experience and Qualifications

* An industry-applicable ONC/HNC/B.Eng or NVQ equivalent.
* H&S qualifications (desirable).
* IOSH or CITB 5 Day Site Safety Management (SMSTS).
* CSCS card.
* Demonstrable experience working with NEC contracts.
* Demonstrable experience in the water and/or sewage industries.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft packages.
* Strong team player but capable of working independently.
* Ability to prioritise a varied workload and manage time to deadlines.
* Ability to work in a busy environment under pressure.
* Excellent communication skills (email/phone/face to face).
* A proactive, can-do attitude and willingness to support other team members.
* Ability to review options and make decisions for project success.
