Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced people manager to lead the ENT/Audiology, OMFS and Dermatology Directorate within the Surgical Division. The successful candidate will shape and influence service change, translate complex agendas into reality, and drive continuous improvement and transformational change.

Key Responsibilities
* Performance: Ensure operational performance meets agreed objectives and targets; manage income and expenditure (I&E) balance; plan and monitor activity targets; align with national and local waiting time targets; support Cancer Services; prepare for external reviews.
* Financial Management: Accountable for I&E balance; develop business cases; work on pricing and costing; ensure compliance with Standing Financial Instructions.
* Business / Policy / Planning: Deliver annual capacity and business planning; support clinical leaders with service reviews; develop income generation methods; draft business cases and support bids; update and rewrite policies; shall undertake project work as directed.
* Transformation: Lead clinical teams in service redesign; advise on national initiatives; explore partnerships with integrated care and tertiary services.
* People Management: Motivate and line manage staff; implement Trust HR policies; oversee recruitment, training, appraisal and workforce planning; foster effective communication and partnership frameworks.
* Governance: Support quality improvement strategy; develop quality enhancement plans; manage risk, incidents and complaints; oversee governance processes and ensure compliance.
* Corporate & On‑Call Duties: Participate in the Trust’s management on‑call rota; investigate internal grievances or complaints as required.

Pay & Contract
Band 8b – £64,455 to £74,896 per year. Permanent full‑time contract with flexible working options.
Experience and Skills
* Senior management experience in an acute setting with proven performance, change and financial management.
* Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, relationship‑building and IT skills.
* Working knowledge of NHS finances, employment law, national strategies, governance, and CQC.
Qualifications
* First degree or professional academic qualification.
* Relevant management qualification or equivalent.
* Desirable: Masters degree or equivalent experience.

* Pragmatic and diplomatic, strong motivation, ownership of personal development.
* Resilient, can travel between sites and participate in the trust’s on‑call rota.
