The Nursery Manager will be directly responsible to the Key Stage One and Reception AVP and the Head of School.
The Nursery Manager will manage the day to day running of the Nursery, ensuring a caring, safe, secure, and stimulating environment that meets the minimum Ofsted requirements and reflects the ethos and expectations of Bede Academy and the Emmanuel Schools Foundation.
They will plan and deliver a high-quality early years education rooted in the EYFS framework and lead a team of staff under the direction of the Key Stage One and Reception AVP and Head of School.
They will ensure statutory requirements are fulfilled and will promote a welcoming and inclusive Christian environment where all children are enabled to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Culture
Create a welcoming, safe and inclusive learning environment rooted in the Christian ethos of the Academy.
Promote high standards of care, behavior and learning in line with EYFS.
Uphold policies and procedures, ensuring safeguarding, equality and health & safety at all times.
Curriculum and Learning
Plan, deliver and oversee a broad, engaging and developmentally appropriate curriculum.
Lead observation, assessment and planning to support each child's progress toward early learning goals.
Ensure the environment supports active, purposeful play both indoors and outdoors.
Staff Management
* Lead and supervise staff daily, ensuring effective deployment and professional conduct.
* Support staff development through mentoring, training, and appraisal.
* Maintain high standards of professionalism and teamwork.
Partnership with Parents and Community
Build strong, positive relationships with parents/carers, providing regular updates on progress.
Organise and lead parent meetings and encourage parental involvement in learning.
Support promotion and marketing of the Nursery to ensure full enrolment.
Compliance and Safeguarding
Ensure the continuous supervision of children and maintain accurate records (e.g. attendance, incidents, progress).
Lead safeguarding practice and ensure all staff follow procedures to keep children safe.
Maintain compliance with Ofsted and statutory EYFS requirements.
General Duties
Participate in physical care and support of children, including toileting, lifting and active play.
Maintain professionalism in all interactions and follow all Academy policies.
