Lead and Shape Transport Operations in a Growing Logistics Business

We're now seeking a Senior Transport Operations Planner to take on a key leadership role within our team. This is a position for an experienced logistics professional who can combine advanced planning skills with strong managerial capability — ensuring operations run seamlessly while supporting and developing the people who deliver them.
What You'll Be Doing
* Strategically plan and coordinate collections and deliveries across the UK and internationally
* Lead the planning and scheduling of home delivery operations, ensuring efficiency and customer satisfaction
* Manage daily transport scheduling, tracking, and on-time delivery performance
* Oversee the maintenance of accurate and compliant transport records, systems, and reporting
* Verify, reconcile, and file operational and compliance documentation
* Act as an escalation point, communicating confidently with customers, subcontractors, and stakeholders
* Supervise and mentor planners, warehouse staff, and drivers to ensure high operational standards
* Proactively resolve challenges, adapt plans, and deliver on service level agreements
* Drive operational improvements, process efficiency, and best practice across the team
What You'll Need to Succeed
* Minimum of 10 years' experience within the logistics sector
* Significant experience in planning and managing home deliveries
* Background in transport planning with proven managerial or supervisory experience
* Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
* Strong administrative and IT skills (MS Office essential; TMS/WMS knowledge an advantage)
* Commercial awareness and the ability to make informed, strategic decisions
* Ability to thrive under pressure, managing multiple priorities and deadlines
* Proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to motivate and inspire others

Pay: £35,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
