We are looking for committed individuals who are eager to join the world of hospital pharmacy and our friendly teams, to make a difference to patient care at the Worcestershire Royal Hospital in Worcester and the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch. You will often be the first point of contact for healthcare professionals across the hospital and for members of the public using our service.
Responsibilities
As a Pharmacy Assistant you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, working closely with Pharmacists, Technicians and other Assistants. Your main duties will include:
* Picking, packing and assembling medicines in stock distribution.
* Pharmacy stores receiving and processing orders.
* Manning the reception within the dispensary, speaking to staff and patients and dealing with queries.
* Supplying medicines to wards and departments by means of a top‑up.
* Picking intravenous fluids.
* Working within our sterile preparation suites.
* Delivery of medication to wards and departments.
* Replenishing specialist emergency boxes.
* Participating in established bank holiday and weekend rotas until the introduction of 7‑day working when contracted hours will be undertaken over 7 days.

Person Specification – Experience
Essential
* Experience of working as part of a team.
* Experience of applying high attention to detail.
* Experience of working to deadlines.
Desirable
* Previous hospital or community pharmacy experience.
* Experience of dealing with customers or patient care.
* Experience of stock control.
Qualifications
Desirable
* NPA counter assistant course.
Knowledge and Skills – Essential
* Able to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and written.
* Able to carry out verbal and written instructions accurately.
* Able to use Microsoft Office and have standard keyboard skills.
