Our client is a precision manufacturing business based in Birmingham, specialising in machining and assembly of high value low volume components. The Junior Quality Compliance Certification Officer will be detail orientated, hands-on, can-do and will support various departmental requirements. The role ensures that products have the correct material certification/documentation on time to the required quality standards in accordance with customer specifications.
Responsibilities
* Recognise and interpret material certification (2.1 Certificate of Conformity, 3.1 - 3.2 True and Intent - Mill certificates; NOT records, Welding records, Dimensional Reports and CMM records, etc.).
* Review certifications supplied by the supply chain and verify against customer specifications to ensure full compliance with customer requirements.
* Liaise with suppliers to communicate any required corrections to certificates where needed.
* Analyse and verify material using XRF positive material identification equipment.
* Ensure that any discrepancies with material certification, documents or administration are highlighted, investigated and resolved prior to delivery to the Customer.
* Support projects to improve the workflow of certification and efficiency of processing to reduce checking lead times and ensure 100% right-first-time quality of product and associated certification.
* Maintain the certification database and ensure KPI targets are achieved.
* Handle material enquiries internally and externally.
* Ensure standard operating procedures are adhered to; highlight deviations and review/update SOPs to ensure processes are correct and up to date.
* Carry out any other duties appropriate to this post as necessary or requested.
* Raise concessions relating to material and raise/action DRs.
* Support the contract review process to ensure it is adhered to and fully reviewed prior to acknowledgements.
* Support the goods inwards process and works order reviews where required.
* Arrange and monitor 3rd party test house requests.
* Demonstrate outstanding organisational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Assist in delivering key activities and projects as required; work to tight and changing deadlines with discretion.
* Prioritise workload and work on own initiative to meet deadlines.
* Support visitors on site as required and keep accurate, up-to-date data relating to Quality Administration/Certification to ensure traceability and correct documentation.
* Ensure trackers are updated and carry out relevant Quality Administration checks; ensure process documentation is stamped/signed.
* Cover for Quality Compliance Administrator as required; perform "buddy checks" with Final Inspection.
* Provide backup to the quality team (holiday cover, overflow activities) as deemed appropriate by the Senior Quality Compliance Officer.
* Support the quality team in relation to ISO 45001, 9001 and 14001 procedures; ensure implementation and adherence to health and safety procedures.
* Promote a Quality Culture and be a positive role model; participate in cross-functional teams; maintain good relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Carry out any other duties appropriate to this post as necessary or requested.
Essential Qualifications / Experience / Skills
* Strong administration experience in a Manufacturing/Engineering environment.
* Proven experience of documentation compilation and control.
* High level of attention to detail, prioritisation and planning skills.
* Strong computer literacy with IT systems and intermediate-advanced MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
