Machinery Mechanic 3 (Nights) Location: Lake Wales, FL Position: Full-Time | Shift: Night Shift Department: Engineer Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor Pay: $29.19 to $32.47 per hour, based on qualifications What you'll do Work on mechanical equipment repairs. Fabricate parts and assemblies. Help train new mechanics. Must be willing to work in a team environment and with very little supervision. This is a fast paced, very demanding work area and requires a person that is highly motivated. This person must be willing to work days or nights and be ready to work whenever required to help the team meet the high machine reliability goals set by the maintenance team. Perform daily maintenance task. Rebuild pumps, gear boxes and other equipment as needed to ensure repairs are completed on time. Must support Safety and Process Improvement programs with active participation in suggestion programs for each area. Frequent participation in the Safety Committee is required. Support and participation of the plant safety program is required. Routine maintenance and repair of rolling stock. Routine maintenance and repair of pumps and hydraulic units. Perform any other duties assigned. Due to the significant amount of steps/stairs contained in our production facility, employees must have the ability to navigate steps/stairs in a safe manner. What we're looking for High School diploma or GED required. In addition, applicants must achieve a minimum score of 70% on the Mechanic Evaluation Test. Must be able to read, interpret and follow written instructions including operator manuals, safety procedures, SOP's and SSOP's. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals required. Must have a minimum of 2 years industrial maintenance experience or have progressed through the FNG facilities maintenance trainee position. Prefer experience in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment used in the food processing industry. Ability to layout and fabricate machine parts is required. Must have a basic understanding of welding principles and demonstrate the ability to stick weld black iron metal. Must have good working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, power transmission, motors, gearboxes, pumps, and valves. Must be self- motivated and demonstrate good people skills. Able to train other employees of lower skills through hands on training. Heavy physical requirements, including lifting 50 lbs., bending and climbing. Ability to communicate and work as a team member to problem solve improve equipment operation. Ability to meet and maintain requirements of FNG forklift license. Must have excellent work habits, initiative, safety, and attendance. Have a positive attitude that promotes teamwork. Must be able to identify machine parts and make up a spare parts list. Must be able to correctly align rotating shafts. This employee is regularly required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, frequently required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and outside weather conditions, is occasionally exposed to high precarious places; extreme cold and extreme heat. Must be able to physically enter and work in restricted confined spaces and pass all required training. Must be able to master basic computer skills such as opening, reading, creating and sending email and attachments. Must be able to work on several projects at the same time, prioritizing work responsibilities to meet.
