Main duties of the job
This pivotal role bridges clinical expertise and digital transformation, ensuring our new EPR system enhances patient care, supports clinical workflows, and aligns with organisational goals. The post holder will work closely with the Trusts EPR team, including the Programme Director, CCIO & CDIO and will be responsible for driving the adoption, implementation of the EPR across the Trust, representing the views and responsibilities of clinical staff for Trust colleagues. Hands on team-work, attention to detail and ability to work independently and at pace are key to success in this role as well as a thorough understanding of EPR’s and their role in delivery of care.
The post holder will support the EPR team using user centred design principles to drive the implementation and adoption of the EPR, to improve the uptake of digital technologies and standardise ways of working across the Trust. This pivotal role involves supporting the EPR in ensuring our new EPR is safe, efficient, fit for purpose and aligns to the Trust’s strategic goals.

This role is in the Digital PMO which sits under the Digital Services Directorate. The Directorate utilises technology and digital solutions to empower our staff to work effectively and to improve the care our service users receive.
The Digital team are located across 3 main sites:
Maudsley Hospital (headquarters)

Bethlem Royal Hospital
Bethlem Royal Hospital is based in a beautiful setting in over 200 acres of green space in the London Borough of Bromley, South East London. The hospital has easy access to nearby main roads and have offers free parking. The site is within walking distance from of Eden Park and West Wickham overland stations.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Leadership:
·Working with the Trusts EPR team, and EPR Medical Manager, the post holder will lead the clinical planning, execution, and delivery of the EPR programme across the organisation.
·Act as the clinical liaison between nursing teams and digital transformation teams to ensure the EPR system meets clinical needs.
·Set and agree standards for clinical workflows, training and adoption of the EPR
·Collaborate with multidisciplinary stakeholders including IT, clinical staff, operational leads, and external vendors.
·Oversee change management, training, and engagement strategies to support successful adoption.
·Work with stakeholders to engage patients, carers, medics and wider clinical staff in the development and adoption of the EPR.
·Foster a culture of continuous improvement
·Monitor programme milestones, risks, and benefits realisation, reporting progress to senior leadership.
·Ensure compliance with data governance, information security, and regulatory standards.
·Champion continuous improvement and user feedback to optimise system performance and usability.
·Promote digitally enabled transformation of clinical services to enhance patient safety, quality outcomes, and experience.
·Contribute to the evaluation of the impact of digital health services on clinical practice, identifying and measuring benefits, and monitoring for unintended outcomes and mitigating issues.
·Share and promote the achievements of the Digital Clinical Team.
·Ensure clinical governance and safety processes for digital systems and EPR are embedded into practice.
·Represent the clinical staff in EPR meetings, advocating for technology adoption, data quality, and process standardisation.
·Work collaboratively within a team of digital specialists to enable the delivery of the EPR.

·Champion informatics technology for safe and effective care by staff across the Trust.
·Support service design and digital innovation uptake using workflow knowledge.
·Promote compliance with clinical safety and risk management standards.
·Contribute to the identification of patient safety risks of digital systems and support with designing mitigation and management approaches.
·Promote best use of digital technology within clinical and operational services.
·Support the creation of training materials for the digital clinical workforce for areas of expertise, ensuring content reflects required workflows, clinical practice elements and required clinical behaviours.
·Promote use of data for quality improvement across clinical pathways and within clinical services.
·Maintain understanding of current clinical practice and how care is delivered within a Mental Health Trust.
Performance Monitoring
·Contribute to monthly overview of the work achieved and completed by the EPR team
·Gather feedback on engagement, clinical impact, and end user satisfaction.
·Participate in audits and evaluations to ensure clinical standards and expected outcomes are met. (WGLL, clinical safety and the user experience of clinical staff)

Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Registered Medical Professional (GMC, HCPC) with significant post-registration experience
2. Educated to Master’s level or equivalent experience
Desirable criteria
3. Project management certification (e.g., PRINCE2, MSP, Agile).
Knowledge and Skills
Essential criteria
4. Demonstrable knowledge of ePJS and other Trust clinical/digital systems and tools
5. Develops themselves and the team with a commitment to develop and educate clinical colleagues.
6. A commitment to providing high quality service and putting patients at the centre of what they do
7. Highly organised and able to balance / prioritise service delivery requirements and project delivery milestones
8. Ability to appreciate the needs of others and lead with empathy and compassion
9. Proven experience in managing large-scale digital health or EPR projects/programmes.
10. In depth understanding of EPRs and how they are used for care and national reporting
11. Demonstrated leadership in change management and stakeholder engagement.
12. Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
13. Familiarity with NHS digital strategies, standards, and frameworks (e.g., PRSB, SNOMED CT, HIMSS).
14. Significant post-registration experience, preferably in mental health or community care
15. Experience of working across organisational boundaries and influencing senior stakeholders
16. In-depth understanding of clinical workflows, patient safety, and digital transformation in healthcare.
17. Excellent communication skills- both written and verbal
