Traffic Engineer – Rochford covering the Essex region (Field based)

Telent are looking for an addition to the region Traffic Essex Engineering team due to growth and increased demand from our customers. We are looking for an experienced Traffic Engineer who has a proven track record of maintaining and rectifying faults on Traffic Signals Units / Traffic Lighting Systems. This is a field based role which will see you travel across the West Essex region in all weather conditions.
What you’ll do
* Report to the Contract Manager; carry out maintenance works of Traffic Signals units / Traffic Light systems, detection boxes, Traffic Lights controllers, and get involved in planned maintenance and "switch off" activities. Additional duties may include the commissioning of Traffic Signals / Traffic Lighting equipment if or when required.
* Liaise with on-site customers to fault find, troubleshoot, and rectify issues with Traffic Signals / Traffic Light systems and units.
* Be flexible to travel across the Essex region and participate in an on-call standby rota of 1-in-4 weeks (covering weekends and night-time call outs if required).
* Attend to maintenance works and planned inspections in line with contract requirements; complete maintenance of Traffic Signals / Traffic Lights Systems as scheduled and per SLA.
* Interrogate Traffic Controllers and carry out fault analysis under the supervision of a Senior Traffic Engineer.
* Work outdoors in all weathers and be available to attend the Rochford depot from time to time.
Who you are
As the successful Traffic Signals Maintenance Engineer, you will ideally have previous or current experience working with Traffic Signals Units / Traffic Light Systems, maintaining them to technical specifications, and be proficient in a range of technical processes and procedures through job-related training and experience. Strong communication skills are required as you will be customer facing, with a strong customer service focus.
Key requirements
* Electrical knowledge or equivalent Traffic Signals Units / Traffic Lights maintenance experience
* Strong knowledge of and experience with Traffic Controllers, Switches, Detection Boxes, and related equipment
* Fully NHSS / HERS accredited through Sector 8 / Chapter 8
* Full UK Driving Licence
