Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Mini Bus Driver/handy man to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting residents on outings while ensuring a high level of customer service. This role requires excellent driving skills, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to communicate effectively with passengers and staff, also with the ability to complete general handyman jobs such as painting, gardening etc. The role will covering 20 hours at our care home in Stamford and also 20 hours in our other care home in Oakham.
Responsibilities
* Safely operate a mini bus on designated routes, adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations.
* Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
* Maintain accurate records of passenger counts, mileage, and any incidents that occur during the journey.
* Provide assistance to passengers as needed, including helping with boarding and disembarking.
* Perform routine maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues to the maintenance team.
* Ensure cleanliness and proper maintenance of the bus interior and exterior.
Qualifications
* Valid driving licence with appropriate endorsements for mini bus operation.
* Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar driving role is an advantage.
* Strong mechanical knowledge to identify basic vehicle issues and perform minor maintenance tasks.
* Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
* Ability to manage time effectively and follow schedules accurately.
* A customer-oriented attitude with a commitment to providing excellent service.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £14.50 per hour
