We are working with a specialist SEMH school in Corby that is looking to appoint a resilient and empathetic Teaching Assistant with proven mental health experience to support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
This role would suit someone who is confident supporting young people who may present with challenging behaviour and who understands the importance of consistency, boundaries, and relationship-building.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs
2. Support pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
3. Assist the class teacher in delivering structured and engaging lessons
4. Help maintain a calm, safe, and supportive learning environment
5. Work collaboratively with pastoral and SEN teams
Person Specification:
6. Experience supporting children or young people with mental health or SEMH needs
7. Relevant backgrounds such as youth work, care, counselling, or psychology are desirable
8. Patient, adaptable, and emotionally resilient
9. Confident managing behaviour and de-escalation strategies
10. Committed to making a positive impact on students' wellbeing and progress
