Of-course no day is the same here at the Cambian Group, however here is what a day in the life of one of our Residential Youth Worker could look like: Organising and facilitating activities Encouraging our young people in their preparation to re-enter education or to engage in their current schooling Providing support and guidance to the young people within our care Travelling with our young people to and from school/college Good communication between the staff team and management Keeping up to date with mandatory training Maintaining accurate written records continuation sheets and files both to record information and enable regular monitoring and evaluation to take place Preparing meals at meal times and maintaining the home (cleaning, laundry) throughout the day to ensure a wonderful environment for our young people To undertake child specific training such as Peg feeding, specific health needs and medication competencies including rescue medication Act as a role model and demonstrating appropriate pro-social ways of managing behaviours associated with diagnosis i.e. autism This is not an exhaustive list and of course a full job specification is available.
