Staff Nurse - Pre-Assessment Exeter Hospital
Bank – Part Time, includes weekend work. Pay up to £26.50 per hour based on experience.
Location
Nuffield Health Exeter Hospital, next to the RD&E hospital in Wonford, Exeter.
About the Role
As a Pre‑Assessment Staff Nurse you will be part of a close‑knit team delivering matron‑led care in a consultant‑led service. You will serve as the first point of contact, working with talent and professionals to make the right assessments for patients prior to their surgery.
Responsibilities
* Deliver assessments for patients before surgery.
* Demonstrate broad knowledge and assessment skills to ensure patient care.
* Fully understand and support the needs of each patient and their family.
* Offer comfort and reassurance, providing the highest standards of care.
* Build experience across new practices, equipment and facilities.
* Work with practitioners in other areas, understanding that continuity in patient care is key.
Qualifications
* Registered with the relevant governing body (NMC).
* Post‑registration experience, with a team‑playing attitude and passion for exceptional patient care.
* Broad knowledge base and assessment skills.

Hospital Highlights
The hospital includes 2 theatres, a hybrid cardiac catheter laboratory/theatre, an endoscopy suite and a day‑case ward of 12 beds. It specialises in elective orthopaedic and spinal surgery, cardiology (including invasive procedures), general surgery, plastics and cosmetic surgery, ENT and gynaecology. The hospital has a MAKO robot for joint replacement surgery.
