Overview
Applications are invited for the post of Consultant in Adult Psychiatry with responsibility for the Eastern Vale.
Full‑time position within the established Vale Locality Mental Health Team, alongside two full‑time Consultant colleagues covering Central Vale and Western Vale.
Flexible working arrangements may be considered.
Responsibilities
The post holder will act as Responsible Clinician for clients cared for by neighbourhood services, including in‑patients and community patients under the Mental Health Act 1983 and the Wales Mental Health Measure.
Manage both community and in‑patient service provision, supported by a Consultant colleague in the Crisis Service who manages early acute admissions (up to 14 days).
Qualifications
* Specialist Register registered Consultant Psychiatrist or Specialist Registrar within six months of obtaining a CCT/CESR (CP) at the time of interview.
* At least 3 years of post‑registration or training reference (referee information required).
* Experience working in adult psychiatry; experience in community or inpatient service desirable.
Benefits
Excellent Consultant contract for Wales including an enhanced starting salary of £135,596 per annum, rising to a maximum of £160,951 per annum.
