Confidential – Head of Renewables Planning
Location: London, Cambridge, Oxford, Milton Keynes, or Norwich
Are you passionate about shaping a sustainable future and leading on major renewable energy projects? This is a newly created leadership position within a top-tier UK planning consultancy, offering the opportunity to establish and head up a national Renewables Planning team.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving forward a market-leading renewables planning service, providing strategic advice on planning applications, appraisals, appeals and nationally significant infrastructure projects across technologies such as solar, wind and battery storage. This role sits within a well-established planning and sustainability function, closely aligned with wider climate, energy and natural capital teams.
This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced senior planner in the renewables space to lead, build and grow a specialist service line within a highly respected independent property consultancy.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and develop the Renewables Planning team at a national level.
* Deliver professional advice and manage planning instructions for a wide range of clients including developers, landowners and public sector bodies.
* Build a pipeline of new business opportunities and strengthen client relationships.
* Oversee and deliver major planning projects including NSIPs and DCOs.
* Work closely with internal energy, climate and sustainability specialists to deliver integrated client solutions.
* Contribute to business development strategy and act as a visible leader in the renewables planning market.
About You
* Chartered Member of the RTPI.
* Proven track record in renewables planning at Director, Partner or senior Associate Director level.
* Strong leadership and team management experience.
* Skilled in business development and client relationship management.
* Degree in a planning or renewables-related discipline.
* Experience of NSIPs / DCO process desirable.
* Full UK driving licence.
