About Andrew Proven House
The work we do is at Andrew Proven House (APH), which offers safe accommodation and support to families in West London.
First and foremost we offer women, or occasionally couples, and their children a safe environment. Families have their own flats and our 24-hour team of staff gives them much needed peace of mind. Each family is assigned a key worker who draws up a personalised support plan. Families can stay with us for up to two year.
What we are looking for
We are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate and caring person who will support our tenants. A caring and positive attitude is essential.
Main Duties
* To accept and process referrals within the agreed procedures and time scales.
* Conduct interviews and complete risk assessments communicating decisions clearly to applicants and Referees.
* To create support plans based on the need assessment in agreement with the client.
* To review support plans in a competent manner in line with agreed timescales or at the request of the client.
* To keep support plans updated – ensuring all Supporting People outcome forms are completed and submitted in the agreed timeframe.
* To work as part of a strong team that has a multi-agency approach to delivering an effective and pro-active support service.
Person Specification
* Previous experience as Housing support worker/ Support worker
* Good numeracy & literacy including Maths/English at GCSE or above (level B) or equivalent
* Knowledge of Child Protection and Safeguarding.
* Experience of working with client who have histories involving Domestic Violence.
* Experience of working with vulnerable clients.
* Knowledge of substance misuse. Experience of Support Planning.
* Challenges inappropriate behaviour.
* The ability to make strong decisions quickly and without panic.
* An interest and understanding in the needs of young vulnerable people.
