We are looking for a kind, enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming team at a wonderful school. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to children’s learning and development in a supportive and inclusive primary setting. Beginning May 2025.
Duties as a Teaching Assistant:
1. Supporting pupils in class, in small groups or on a one-to-one basis
2. Working closely with the class teacher to deliver high-quality learning experiences
3. Helping to prepare learning materials and set up classroom activities
4. Encouraging pupils’ social and emotional development
5. Supporting children with additional needs, where required
6. Supervising pupils at playtimes and during transitions
7. Creating a positive, safe, and inclusive environment for all children
Ideal Teaching Assistant:
1. Has experience working with children (school, nursery or youth setting)
2. Is positive, patient, and motivated to help all pupils succeed
3. Works well as part of a team and uses initiative
4. Understands the importance of safeguarding and child protection
5. Has good communication skills and a nurturing approach
6. (Desirable) Has a relevant qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning)
7. (Desirable) Has experience supporting children with SEND
