A school in Gateshead are seeking a knowledgeable Teaching Assistant to join their team to support a pupil with SEND needs. This is a full-time position where you will play a vital role in supporting a child to access the classroom and school facilities in a meaningful way. Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one support a pupil who requires additional assistance with mobility and Send needs. Assist with the preparation of learning resources and materials. Support the social and emotional development of pupils, promoting positive behaviour and well-being. Help maintain a safe and stimulating learning environment. Collaborate with colleagues and parents to support pupil progress and achievement. Requirements: Previous experience working as SEN Support or in a similar role within a primary school setting is desirable. The role will require personal care experience - cleaning and changing the child. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and parents. A passion for working with young children and supporting their educational development. Patience, resilience, and a positive attitude towards overcoming challenges. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required. A commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in the classroom.
