Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Cardiac Physiologist to rotate between the Clinical Measurements Department and the newly built Clinical Diagnostic Centres (CDCs), one located in Great Yarmouth and the other on the JPUH site. The role is part of a friendly team, supporting ambulatory monitoring and exercise testing services.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking, and motivated individual who possesses excellent communication skills, can work both as part of a team and independently, and has a sound knowledge of cardiac anatomy.
Responsibilities
The post holder will be responsible for the delivery and organisation of non‑invasive investigations, including adult and paediatric ECGs, ambulatory monitoring and physiologist‑led exercise tolerance tests.
The department also runs a small echocardiography team providing inpatient and outpatient transthoracic echo services, ACHD clinics, valve clinics, bubble studies and DSE clinics, and supports TOE lists.
* Plan and implement cardiac non‑invasive diagnostic procedures without direct supervision, including the setting and monitoring of standards.
* Support the management responsibility of the Multi‑Disciplinary Team within the Clinical Measurement Department, providing professional support and specialist cardiac physiologist advice as necessary.
* Provide specialist ECG and ambulatory monitoring training and act as departmental clinical educator to support the development of junior staff.
* Take charge of the Clinical Measurement Department as required.
The cardiac physiologist shall, at all times, act in such a manner as to justify public trust and confidence to safeguard the interest of individual patients.
Qualifications
Suitable applicants will have completed a BSc in Clinical Physiology (or equivalent), be RCCP or AHCS registered, and have current experience in ambulatory monitoring and exercise testing. Applicants should also meet the requirements detailed in the person specification and job description.
