Job summary
Part-time position, 22.5 hours, working Monday, Thursday, and Friday.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for Band 3 Assistant Technical Officers within the Cardio Respiratory department to deliver Cardiorespiratory services to the Trust and, as necessary, to other LUFT Trust sites or appropriate healthcare sites.
The post holder will be an effective member of the Cardiorespiratory Department, providing high standards of Cardiac and Respiratory Physiological services and patient care. Flexibility in working hours may be required.
Main duties of the job
The staff member will undertake a range of clinical physiology investigations, including duties such as recording ECGs, fitting and removing ambulatory monitoring devices, and conducting spirometry, either independently or in assisting Clinical Physiologists.
* Alert medical staff to abnormalities noted on ECGs, e.g., in A&E. Be BLS trained.
* Assist in stock control of consumables used in clinical physiology.
* Ensure the safe use of departmental equipment.
* Recognize and confirm the accuracy of reported equipment faults, document details, and take appropriate corrective steps.
* Maintain a clean and tidy procedure environment.
* Assist with the maintenance of local risk management policies.
